What will you learn?

Every bass lesson is suited to your individual needs. We’ll focus on your technique, tone, rhythm, phrasing, grooving, performance and everything else you’ll need to be happy with your bass playing. All hands on, practical, fun and friendly. Learning on examples of songs with inspiring bass lines.

Complete guidance for RSL Grades 1-8

Techniques:​

Right hand: fingers style (two, three-finger picking, pizzicato, palm muting, special techniques), slap (thumb, pop, double stroke, rock/metal style of slapping techniques, left-right hand coordination, percussive notes, Marcus Miller-Victor Wooten-Mark King-Flea-Fieldy-T.M.Stevens-Larry Graham styles), tapping (chord playing, two-three fingers style, left-hand dexterity, John Myung-Billy Sheehan-Stu Hamm-Alex Webster styles)

Left hand: well-balanced position, hammer-on, pull-off, slide, vibrato, tremolo, focus on stamina, speed and dexterity

Groove:

rhythm exercises, metronome work-outs, tone shaping, phrasing

​How does the first lesson look like?

​You’ll bring your instrument and we’ll have a quick chat about your experience and goals you want to achieve. We'll play, focus on technique, fingerboard knowledge, have fun and schedule your regular practice plan with daily routine, songs to learn and recommended sources of bass education.

Where does the lesson take place?​

I can teach you at your home or at my place near Notting Hill Gate tube. All you need is your instrument. Lessons at your home require your instrument, small amp and cable.

About myself:

Bass guitar is my life. I’ve been playing since I was fifteen, I’ve been in countless bands and
recording studios, and I’ve played thousands of gigs in clubs and festivals all over Europe
(Sonisphere, Ozzfest, Simple Things, Dimensions, etc.). I’ve also been an artist for Yamaha
basses and Ampeg amps and cabinets for years.

Since 2011 I have been living in London, UK, where I continue my musical career as an MD, session player and tutor. Since 2019 I have been working with producers Andy Wright and Gavin Goldberg (Jeff Beck, Simple Minds, Massive Attack), who I met while working
on the Punt Guns project, where I also made my first appearance as a composer, singer and lyricist. In 2023 I recorded couple of tracks for Simply Red’s album Time, and continued to play solo with my Low Heaven project. I also taught private lessons, and toured
and recorded with various artists in the UK and Europe.
