Bedlington X whippet to re-home

Unfortunately we have come to the conclusion that we need to find Rufus a new home. In the last two years we have moved and had a baby which have both been a negative impact on Rufus. Rufus needs a quieter home without children or other pets, someone who loves walks, to kick a ball, has time to put some training in, that can control him when he lunges and barks at cats on walks, and has a garden. Rufus was unfortunately attacked last year which was bad and he had to have slot of stitches. This left him a bit nervous of big dogs, but most of the time he will just run away from them or bark if he's too close. His recall is good and he will listen to commands. His favourite things are balls and food (but he can be possessive outside if you have treats and another dog comes near) and if he gets the sent of a cat, squirrel, fox or deer his natural instincts kick in hard so you need to be alert on walks. We have had him since he was a puppy and it will be a sad day when he is re-homed but we know we are doing the right thing. I would like to vet whoever does re-home him to make sure he's going to a loving home so please don't be offended by the questions. And I would like us to meet with Rufus before so we can decide if he's right for you. I'd like him to go with all his toys, bed, food and other bids so it's not such a big change. Of course you could change them after he's all settled in.
