Electrical Design Engineer Sheffield Salary up to GBP51K + Benefits
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with building services design experience to join a fast–growing, UK–based low carbon energy company as an Electrical Design Engineer.
This is a full–time, permanent position based in Sheffield, offering the chance to work on major low carbon district energy and heat network projects across the UK.
The company is a leader in designing, funding, building, operating and maintaining sustainable heat and energy systems for communities, towns, and cities playing a key role in the UK s net–zero transition.
In the role you ll support the design and delivery of innovative energy infrastructure projects, from early design through to operation helping to shape the next generation of low carbon heat networks. This isn t a typical design office role you ll have the opportunity to own projects end–to–end, working closely with engineering, construction and operations teams to refine and improve systems in real–world use.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver new energy projects through pre–construction and construction stages. Electrical design including: General & emergency lighting Small power and data LV distribution & single line diagrams Fire alarm systems Containment design Produce detailed drawings, reports, calculations and specifications. Survey and evaluate existing building energy systems. Coordinate work with engineers from other disciplines. Key Skills & Experience:
Degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng or equivalent). Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Amtech and Dialux. Good knowledge of UK building standards and electrical design regulations. Strong communication and organisational skills. A proactive, inquisitive, and creative approach to engineering challenges.
